　「姫魚（ひめうお）」のことを聞いたことがありますか？

「アマビエ」はどうですか？

　私は、江戸時代の予言をする妖怪が、最近、ニュースによく登場しているので、「姫魚（ひめうお）」のことを知りたくなりました。

　少し前に、「アマビエ」という妖怪が有名になりました。「アマビエ」は1846年に瓦版に印刷されました。アマビエは一見すると、髪の長い人魚のように見えます。クチバシがあり、目と耳は菱形です。三本のヒレのような足があります。

　「姫魚（ひめうお）」は「神社姫（じんじゃひめ）」という名前でも知られています。1819年に印刷されました。全長６メートルくらいの、二本の角をもつ、女の顔をした人魚のようです。金色の魚で、背に三つの宝珠の玉があり、口には赤い実をつけた小枝をくわえています。さらに、私は気づいたことがあります。よく見ると、尾びれが三つに分かれています。もしかしてもしかすると、これは、アマビエのモデルの可能性があるんじゃないでしょうか。

　今、アマビエも姫魚（ひめうお）も脚光を浴びています。これからの世界を救う力になるのでしょうか。私は彼女たちの力に期待をしています。

What about "Ambie"?

When I heard of Hime-uo, I wanted to know more about her. Because the youkai who had made prophecies in the Edo era have often appeared in the news recently.

Not long ago, the youkai called "Amabie" became famous. "Amabie" was printed on a tile block print in 1846. At first glance, Amabie looks like a mermaid with long hair. It has a beak, and its eyes and ears are rhombuses. There are three fin-like legs.

"Hime-uo(the princess fish)" is also known as "Jinjya-hime,(the shrine princess)". It was printed in 1819. It looks like a mermaid with a fish body with the face of a woman with two horns, about 6 meters long. It is a golden fish with three beads of jewels on its back and a sprig with red fruits in its mouth. In addition, I have noticed something. If you look closely, the tail fin is divided into three parts. “Maybe, maybe, this is a model of Amabie!”

Amabie and Hime-uo are in the spotlight now. Will it help save the world in the future? I am expecting the powers of them.

アマビエの効果：What is Amabie?

 　最近、アマビエという妖怪をよく目にする。はたしてその効果はあるのか。だれもが疫病退散と安定した暮らしを願っている。海という漢字はさんずいに暗いを意味する每から成る。なるほど広く深く暗いその海から光輝くアマビエが表れて予言したそうだ。

　新型コロナウイルス感染症が世界中に広まり、暮らしは一変した。アマビエが疫病を終息させ経済を立て直せるのか不明だが、少なくともアマビエを共有しているという人と人とのつながりを感じる。ちょうど海外ではバルコニーから同じ時刻に拍手をして医療従事者に感謝するように。

 

　家で過ごす日々。子どもの学習や運動をサポートし、家事もこなす。他所の家でも同じだろうかと不安に思う。子どものノートにアマビエのイラストを描いたら予想以上に喜んでいた。

　そもそもアマビエが実在したかどうかよりも連帯をもたらす存在であることには違いない。そして、人間は大自然の中で人と人との間で生きる存在なのだと改めて考えさせられた。
